The top leading manufacturer of LED illuminators
for machine vision, CCS Inc. (Headquartered in Kyoto, Japan, President:
Kenji Yoneda, Capital fund: 111.95 million yen) will open its representative
office in Shanghai (in Pudong New Area) on September 12, 2003. Originally,
its opening was planned in May 2003, but was postponed because of
the impact of SARS.
CCS will participate in trade shows related to electronic products
in three regions in China (Shenzen, Shanghai and Guangdong), and
will display LED illuminators for machine vision that can be used
for comprehensive business development in the Chinese market. In
addition, CCS will further develop a scientific cooperative relationship
with Shanghai Jiao Tong University for research on the machine vision
systems (CCS delivered LED ring lights to the university in August
2002).
The establishment of a representative office will significantly
increase the level of service for customers in the territory and
technical support by setting up testing rooms to conduct experiments
for the customers' applications.
And also a direct, local presence will provide for a more responsive
and efficient operation. CCS has been supplying its products to
China through Beijing and Hong Kong based distributors. However,
CCS has decided to open an office as a result of the growth of
its business and great market demands in China.
CCS is planning to upgrade its office to a sales subsidiary in
the latter half of 2004 to make it their core sales point in Asia.
CCS will also actively seek to employ local software developers
and engineers in order to use the office as the center of CCS
technical developments.
Regarding the participation in trade shows in China, CCS will
participate the shows with the CCS distributors. By introducing
application samples of images taken with CCS unique lighting techniques,
CCS is attempting to improve the recognizability of illuminators
for machine vision.
