Q What are the characteristics of a Robot Cable?

A

A Robot Cable has excellent heat resistance, oil resistance, and flexibility as compared with a regular extension cable. It exhibits high performance in over 10 million repetitions in bending tests, and can be used for applications requiring high safety and reliability. If you are using a Robot Cable in a moving application, you must secure Robot Cables along with the cables (including connectors) for the Light Unit connected to the Robot Cable.

Q What are the advantages of using branched cables?

A

A branched cable can be used to connect more than one Light Unit to a single Control Unit Unit. It is useful when the same settings are to be used for different Light Units. Two-way and Four-way Cables are available in lengths of 1m, 2m, 3m, and 5m. When using a branched cable, make sure that the total power consumption of the Light Units does not exceed the output power capacity of the Control Unit to which they will be connected. If light-intensity control is to be set separately for each Light Unit, use a Multi-channel Control Unit.

Q Can two or more cables be connected together?

A

If two or more cables are connected together, the strength of the connecting section is less than that of the cables. The voltage resistance will increase, and the radiant quantity of the Light Unit may also decline due to the total length of the connected cable. As a rule, do not connect two or more cables, i.e., use one cable of the required length. Cables are available in lengths of 1m, 2m, 3m, and 5m, If you need a cable longer than 5m, you can place a special order, as long as the drop in voltage will not affect operation.

Q What is the minimum bending radius R for the extension cables (CB, FCB, RCB, FRCB)?

A

Cable Model Minimum Bending R (mm)
CB 27.6
FCB 28.8
RCB 27.6
FRCB 28.8

QA No. 11-0026

Q What color is the insulation coating for the CB and FCB extension cables?

A

As of April 2011, the insulation coating is colored gray.

QA No. 11-0025

Q Can you produce a cable that is longer than 5m?

A

If the extension cable is longer than 5m, there is a risk of oscillation occurring.
If such usage cannot be avoided, we can provide you with a cable with such a length, however, its usage will be outside our company's guaranteed usage specifications.
Regarding the specifications, they will vary depending on the light unit or Control Unit being used, so we ask that you inquire further at our various sales offices.
